The interpreter facilitates effective communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing patients, their families, and medical staff. They ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity while working in various medical settings.
Candidates must have an associate degree or higher in interpreting and a minimum of 2 years of experience. Applicants are also required to pass a department-administered interpreting assessment and complete a 2-hour job shadow.

UC Health is seeking a qualified and compassionate Spanish Medical Healthcare Interpreter for the UC Medical Center.
The Sign Language Healthcare Interpreter is to facilitate effective communication between Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) patients, their families and companions, and the UCH providers and staff. The interpreter will work with patients and practitioners in various medical settings ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
