The Registered Nurse will perform detailed nursing assessments, triage, and medication administration while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to plan individual treatment. They are also responsible for providing crisis intervention, de-escalating aggressive behaviors, and educating clients and families on behavioral health diagnoses and treatments.
Candidates must hold a Washington State Registered Nurse credential or multistate licensure privilege and a BLS certificate. The role requires experience in assessing and managing acute wounds, the ability to pass a background check, and physical capability to perform violence prevention and MOAB techniques.

Anticipated start dates for this role are in July 2026, with orientation sessions scheduled for July 6 or July 20, 2026.
Based on current utilization levels within the Crisis Relief Center, staffing schedules utilizing 3x12 and 4x12 shifts have been implemented to support operational needs. Scheduling and total weekly hours remain subject to change based on ongoing utilization, patient care demands, and organizational needs.
Completes detailed nursing assessments with individuals and documents pertinent information including triage, medical/behavioral health assessments, and medication administration utilizing appropriate assessment tools. Accurately records all medication brought in by individual. Plans individual treatment as part of the multidisciplinary clinical team. Provides education concerning psychiatric diagnosis, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and all others involved in the individual’s care. Intervenes with appropriate verbal interventions to diffuse out of control or potentially dangerous behaviors. Demonstrates ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and technique and can describe and demonstrate their roles and responsibilities. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of seclusion/restraint standards, guidelines, techniques and initiates documentation and debriefing with individuals for any seclusion/restraint incidents as required. Accurately transcribes provider orders and administers medications as prescribed. Attempts to have individual sign medication consent form. Performs chart checks and signs off as a second noted on medications prescribed. Draw labs and provides minor wound care as ordered by providers when required. Completes nurse to nurse at discharge or when accepting individual from another facility.
Standing and walking for long periods of time, majority of scheduled shift. Protective holds, movements and carries. Blocking and redirecting patient movements. Physical interventions in response to aggressive and self-injurious behavior. Ability to move quickly and confidently to intervene in situations when protective holds and/or movements are deemed necessary. Ability to pursue a client in the event they try to leave the secure unit. Successful completion of MOAB training (Management of Aggressive Behavior). Including but not limited to pivoting, knee squats, shuffling front and backwards, assisting a person to the floor, stabilizing people in standing, seated, lying and supine positions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
