Behavioral Health Technician

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience specifically with serious emotional disturbances (SED) populations.
• Formal training or certification in crisis management and clinical assessments.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare documentation software.
• Additional education or certification in mental health or behavioral health fields.
• Experience working in women’s health or specialized behavioral health facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to patients with mental health needs, including those with serious emotional disturbances (SED).
• Assist in conducting clinical assessments and participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment and discharge plans.
• Manage crisis situations through timely intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.

• Clinical assessments and discharge planning skills enable the technician to contribute valuable insights during patient evaluations and ensure smooth transitions in care.
• Mental health knowledge supports compassionate and informed patient care, allowing the technician to understand and address complex emotional and behavioral needs.
• Together, these skills facilitate collaboration with healthcare teams and enhance the overall quality of patient support and treatment delivery.
