The MRI Technologist independently performs or assists in magnetic resonance imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and proper clinical documentation. They are responsible for preparing and administering medications, monitoring students, and maintaining high technical quality standards for all imaging data.
Candidates must hold a certification from ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT and have graduated from a radiologic technology specialty training program. A minimum of one year of related work experience is preferred, and applicants must be able to obtain advanced certification within 24 months of hire.
One of the following certifications is required upon hire: American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Certification Board (NMTCB) American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry or primary ARRT-MR or NMTCB or ARMRIT prior to first day of employment. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2, including advanced certification, within 24 months.
