Overview LPN / LVN – Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg / MST) Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME Full-time | Nights | 7p–7a | 12-Hour Shifts The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a dynamic Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg / MST) unit.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role supports patient safety, care coordination, and quality outcomes while enhancing the overall patient experience.

Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations.

The system includes Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, a 250-bed, not-for-profit regional referral hospital that is home to the region's only Cancer Care Center, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute.

CMMC also serves as the central Maine base for LifeFlight of Maine, the state's only medical helicopter service.

CMH also includes Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital, two 25-bed critical access hospitals that provide essential care to Maine's rural communities.

As part of its commitment to healthcare education and workforce development, CMH is home to the Maine College of Health Professions, Maine's first nursing and medical imaging school.

Responsibilities

Provide bedside patient care in a Med-Surg environment Monitor vital signs, patient status, and clinical changes Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws Support care plans and patient throughput Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams Ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance Document care in EMR/EHR systems Communicate changes in patient condition promptly

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required. 3. IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date. 4. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current. 5. Requirements

Candidates must hold a High School Diploma and a valid LPN or LVN license. Additional requirements include current BLS certification and the ability to obtain IV and Blood Withdrawal certifications within 90 days of hire.
