Friday 8am-4:30pm No on-call required Pay Range $35.50 - $53.25 JOB SUMMARY Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomography (CT) procedures on humans, animals and specimens for research studies. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Associate's degree or Two-Year Professional Program from an accredited AMA School of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology required. Graduation from MRI training program preferred. Experience in clinical radiology and/or nuclear medicine with MRI experience preferred. Two years of MRI scanning experience required. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required. CT certification preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs MRI exams and procedures using skilled techniques and demonstrating appropriate knowledge of field strength and practice of safe entry in the magnetic field. Performs CT exams and procedures demonstrating expertise in limiting radiation exposure to participants and other members of the research team. Adheres to study established scanning protocols. Dispenses and administers doses of contrast material according to approved methods. Records and maintains records according to state and federal guidelines. Ensures efficient and proper functioning of equipment by performing quality control checks at the beginning of each work day and reporting equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel. Prepares necessary supplies and/or set-up of equipment to prepare for scheduled procedures. Maintains a knowledge of appropriate procedures for age- and species-specific techniques. Explains procedures to patients to allay concerns or fears. Positions patient or animal properly for procedures. Maintains competence by regularly updating knowledge as appropriate. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
