The Behavioral Health Specialist conducts crisis assessments in the emergency department and provides behavioral health consults, individual treatment, and family consultations. They also coordinate care plans with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure effective referrals and follow-up.
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a social work-related field and possess appropriate clinical licensure (LSW, LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT). A minimum of two years of clinical experience working with at-risk populations is required.
Education: Master’s degree in a social work field including, Social Work; Marriage and Family Therapy; Psychology; and/or Mental Health Clinician.
Level I – Licensed at a LSW or LCSW level or with the capability to be licensed preferred. Level II - Licensure at a LICSW, LMHC or LMFT level required or LCSW with at least five (5) years of crisis assessments experience.
Requires two years of clinical experience working with at risk populations. Requires the ability to communicate with target population. Requires culturally Competent Interpersonal & Communication Skills. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the local community.
