Performs high-quality breast imaging procedures and assists radiologists during diagnostic biopsies. Ensures patient safety through proper radiation protection standards and accurate clinical documentation.
Requires a certification program in Radiologic Technology and active ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammo registrations. Candidates must also hold SCRQSA certification and BLS certification.

Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies. Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies. Assess patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients. Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary. Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal boards, uses proper shielding, collimation and technical factors that minimize radiation exposure without affecting quality of images. Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material. Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements Education - Certification program - Radiologic Technology Experience - No experience required. Prior radiology experience preferred In Lieu Of In Lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, team members in this job as of 11/08/2020 are grandfathered from the minimum requirements listed above pending state and regulatory requirements.
