Assist physicians in performing diagnostic electrophysiology treatments and maintain all related diagnostic equipment. Prepare patients for exams, analyze data, and respond to Code Blue calls as part of the resuscitation team.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related science field or completion of an AMA-approved Cardiovascular Technology Program. Must be certified in BLS, ACLS, and ECG, with RCES or CEPS certifications preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology; Exercise Science; Kinesiology; Human Performance, or a related field OR In lieu of degree, completion of formal training from an AMA-approved Cardiovascular Technology Program, OR Six (6) months of experience performing electrophysiology exams. Licenses/Certifications: Certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or take and pass Memorial Hermann Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, required Current ECG Course Certification, or take and pass Memorial Hermann ECG, required Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS). (Preferred) Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Strong coordination skills for managing a lab environment (in terms of equipment and procedures) and ability to manage multiple projects on a daily basis Ability to work with a diverse patient population, from children to older adults Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions; delivers on our brand promise of “Advancing health. Personalizing care” through compassion, courage, credibility, and commitment to community PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Prepare patients for: Electrocardiogram, Electrophysiology exams, Holter/Event monitor, and/or Cardiac stress testing exams explaining the procedure and ensuring technical quality. Overseeing data analysis, including processing and preparing client reports. Report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunction to the supervisor, team lead, or manager. Respond to all Code Blue calls as part of the resuscitation team Prepare and present ECG tracings to physicians for interpretation as per hospital process and alert the proper medical personnel of patients with serious arrhythmias. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
