About the role

The Occupational Therapist will perform clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions to restore patient well-being. They will also collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and document patient progress in accordance with agency standards.

We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team for Houston, TX area and surrounding areas.   • Functions: Perform initial and ongoing clinical assessments to identify patient needs, determine level of function at appropriate time points and the appropriateness of the patient for Home health Develop and revise a plan of care in consultation with the physician and other care team members Provide therapeutic treatments, evaluate need for and use of adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications, fabricate and maintain adaptive equipment and hand splints as applicable Evaluate outcomes of care with appropriate discharge planning. Apply concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease Accept clinical assessments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients. Supervise COTA as needed Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner Meet the mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/license board Use effective interpersonal relations and communication skills to advise and consult with the family and other agency personnel as appropriate Demonstrate commitment, professional growth and competency Promote Agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and a current Texas State License. A minimum of one year of experience in home healthcare, acute care, or a rehabilitation setting is required.
