The intern will be part of a core team providing Medication Assisted Treatment to inmates within Department of Correction facilities. Responsibilities include clinical mental health and substance abuse evaluations, assessments, and monitoring medication.

About the program: Department of Corrections

To be a member of the core team responsible for the provision of Medication Assisted Treatment to the inmate population within Department of Correction facilities.

Program outline

By participating as a Bachelor's Level Intern with CHR, you can expect to gain firsthand experience and training related to clinical mental health & substance abuse evaluation and treatment as well as other services, including assessment, working on independent living skills, outreach treatment services and medication evaluation and monitoring.

Qualifications

Education

Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in mental health field.

Experience

Demonstrated experience in mental health treatment preferred but not required.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license

Requirements

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a mental health field and possess a valid driver's license. Prior experience in mental health treatment is preferred but not required.
