The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. They must also recognize stroke symptoms, initiate stroke alerts, and deliver urgent specimens to the laboratory.
Candidates must have one year of experience as a hospital laboratory phlebotomist or be a graduate of an approved phlebotomy training course. Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary puncture is required.
