About the role

Provide direct physical therapy to patients of all ages based on treatment plans established by a primary physical therapist. Responsibilities include monitoring patient progress, documenting treatment, and supervising students or aides.

Salary Range

The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $21.71 to $34.26 per hour. (Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.) The Impact You Can Make Primary focus of the physical therapist assistant is to provide direct Physical Therapy to patients according to an evaluation and treatment plan established by a primary physical therapist. You will be working with the latest rehabilitation technology, including HydroWorx aquatic therapy pool. A collaborative approach to care, with therapists working closely together to share their diversity of experiences and ideas with a goal of helping our patients recover as quickly and completely as possible. How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities) Provide therapy for patients of all ages consistent with clinical guidelines and protocols according to the PT treatment plan outlined by a Physical Therapist. Monitor and modify the treatment plan and goals as indicated by treatment response, monitor equipment use and safety, record patient charges. Consistently provide education to patient and families regarding their condition/treatment in conjunction with other team members. Effectively document and communicate treatment progress. Adjust goals and treatment after conferring with Physical Therapist. Supervise PTA students, aides and volunteers as delegated. Preparation and cleaning of treatment areas and maintaining equipment including therapy pools. Participate in program planning and development for the department, interdisciplinary promotional activities and orientation of new staff. Train or mentor new and existing staff in daily operations or special techniques for patient care as needed. What You Bring (Qualifications) Education/Accredited Programs Associate degree or higher in physical therapy from a NYS Department of Education accredited program or APTA accredited program Licenses/Certifications/Registrations NYS license as a Physical Therapy Assistant Valid driver’s license Current CPR Skills/Abilities Demonstrates a passion for the profession and seeks opportunities to improve skills and abilities Recognizes and respects individual differences in others and fosters a positive work environment for patients and coworkers Works collaboratively with others to reach a common goal and values the importance of teamwork Accepts and is open minded to new approaches and changes Able to problem solve independently and is innovative in creating solutions Promotes a culture of appreciation and recognition for the contribution of others Responds and acts appropriately to confrontational situations Offers and receives constructive feedback Fluent with using a computer and familiar with basic office software

Requirements

Requires an associate degree or higher in physical therapy from an accredited program and a valid NYS license as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Candidates must also possess a valid driver's license and current CPR certification.
