Busy medical practice seeking an individual with experience in surgical scheduling and prior authorizations. Full Time, Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays.
This position is responsible for assisting the department with coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures and obtaining prior authorizations .
Maintains a professional and working relationship with hospitals and surgery centers.
Schedules location of procedures and maintains the physicians surgical schedules.
Identifies conflicts and communicates changes.
Ensures that all paperwork is complete and prior authorization has been obtained.
Prior authorization process includes: collecting necessary documentation, accurate use of diagnostic codes, contacting patients and providers for additional information, obtaining medical clearance, and complete and timely submission of prior and retroactive authorization requests.
Requires previous experience in surgical scheduling and obtaining prior authorizations. Must be able to accurately use diagnostic codes and communicate effectively with patients and providers.
