The RN is responsible for managing the nursing process for oncology patients, including comprehensive assessments and the initiation of care plans. They also serve as a resource person for staff and participate in quality monitoring and professional development activities.
Candidates must be a licensed Registered Nurse in Massachusetts with a BSN preferred and a minimum of one year of recent medical oncology experience. Required certifications include BLS and a chemotherapy/biotherapy card or OCN certification.
Must read, write and communicate in English Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing BSN Preferred Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Basic Life Support Certification Successful passage of CCH’s Pharmacology exam Current chemotherapy/biotherapy card required upon hire and renewed every 2 years or current Oncology Certification (OCN) Chemotherapy Practicum during Orientation period and renewed annually. Demonstrated skills in the education and counseling of oncology patients in both curative and palliative treatment modalities Capable of working with terminally ill patients and their families Minimum of 1 year (or equivalent) recent RN (within last 2 years) direct and continuous involvement in medical oncology including IV experience ONCC (Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation) Oncology Certified Nurse (Must obtain within 18 months of hire) ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) Membership preferred
