The Telemetry Technician monitors and records heart rhythms for patients, identifying changes in rate, rhythm, or pattern. They are responsible for alerting nursing or physician staff to critical changes and troubleshooting monitoring equipment.
A high school diploma is required, with an associate degree or specific medical licenses (EMT, CNA, CMA) preferred. Candidates must have BLS certification and be able to complete a Cardiac Telemetry Certification within one year.
