The ED Technician provides direct patient care, including assisting with mobility, hygiene, and feeding, while performing essential clerical duties. They are responsible for maintaining unit supplies, monitoring patient safety devices, and reporting significant events to the RN.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and a graduate of a Nursing Aide or EMT program. BLS certification is required, and certification via the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry or NREMT is preferred.

Emergency Department Tech Part-time .9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) 12-hour shifts, Days, Nights, Every 3rd Weekend Emergency Department INTERNAL POSTING THROUGH: 5/13/2026 Job Summary: The Emergency Department Tech serves the hospital patient population by assisting to provide direct patient care which meets the assigned unit needs through regular rounding. This position also includes clerical functions and patient care services in the Emergency Department. Nurse Leadership may re-assign to other units based on changes of volumes and acuity. You will play a vital role on the acute care nursing team by following our patients throughout their recovery process and returning them back to their independence! Here's what you'll do when you join us: Demonstrate a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, visitors, coworkers and other departmental representatives. Answers patients' call lights and direct all phone calls promptly and communicates/completes needed patient intervention. Handles all organizational information in a manner that ensures strict confidentiality is maintained at all times. Obtain signatures and place identification on patients. Maintain and order unit supplies and stock items. Assemble and disassemble patient charts. Assists in the delivery of patient care as directed to include: transfers, ambulation, feeding, dressing, bathing, weighing, and toileting. Participate in hourly rounding. Reports significant events and actions promptly to the RN. Applies monitors and reports to the RN the effectiveness of any safety device and/or mobility alarm. Cleans and disinfects equipment as needed and assists in keeping unit clean and organized.
