About the role

Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and outpatient psychotherapy for patients with mental health and substance use disorders. Connect patients with case management and other resources to access benefits and transportation.

Community Health Centers is seeking a Rostered Clinical Social Worker/ Clinical Mental Health Counselor to provide outpatient psychotherapy at our Riverside location. This position will provide additional support for our patients who would benefit from more traditional psychotherapy services. Will be responsible for conducting assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy for patients with mental health and/or substance use disorders and will connect patients with case management or other supports to access benefits, transportation, and other resources as needed.

Basic Qualifications

Graduated with a Master's Degree from a graduate school of social work accredited by CSWE or in counseling psychology from a graduate school accredited by CACREP.

Experience in the mental health field/social work preferred, but not mandatory.

Experience in a medical setting a plus.

Interest in behavioral medicine, approaches, CBT/DBT, or addiction treatment a plus.

Clinical experience including entry level diagnostic, assessment, and counseling skills required, as evidenced through applicable internship in the Master's program.

Be actively registered on the State of Vermont, Office of Professional Regulation Allied Mental Health Roster of Non-licensed, Non-Certified Psychotherapists.

Must obtain licensure within 3 years from date of hire and no later.

Must be CPR certified or be willing to be certified.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of and ability to utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, current behavioral medicine approaches, and other evidence-based approaches.

Understanding of mind/body and biopsychosocial implications of health.

Experience with addictions assessment and treatment

Knowledge of principles, standards, and ethics of Social Work/Psychotherapy/Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Knowledge of transference and countertransference; Can handle countertransference reactions during stressful work situations.

Strong diagnosis and assessment skills, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention skills

Knowledge of mental health and substance use laws and regulations.

Strong written and verbal skills.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling Psychology and registration on the Vermont Allied Mental Health Roster. Candidates must obtain licensure within three years of hire and hold or obtain CPR certification.
