The Certified Medical Assistant supports providers by preparing patients for exams, performing clinical tasks, and documenting care in the EMR. They are also responsible for patient education, care coordination, and assisting with front office operations.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma and a current BLS (AHA) certificate. A Medical Assistant Certification is required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days, along with at least one year of public contact experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Prepare patients for exams by taking vitals, updating medical history, and noting current symptoms Assist with clinical procedures such as EKGs, injections, wound care, and immunizations Collect and process lab specimens including blood draws, throat swabs, and urinalysis Administer medications, coordinate referrals and follow-ups, and document care in the EMR Provide patient education, support infection control, and help with scheduling and front office tasks
