The Mental Health Technician facilitates structured group activities and provides continuous supervision to ensure patient safety and engagement. They collaborate with clinical staff to implement treatment plans and utilize crisis intervention techniques to manage escalating behaviors.
: Provides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment. Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral problems and aids in crisis intervention, as needed. Works closely with all other clinical staff (Activity therapists, Social Workers, Nurses) To conduct various groups within the patient program. Plays an integral part of assuring that the patient program schedule is conducted as planned by the staff team Job Duties Include: Supervises and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL) (hygiene, meals, laundry) as needed. Actively supervise patients in all daily activities while documenting patients’ behaviors, conditions & progress in a manner prescribed by policy and clinical standards. Ensure programing is occurring according to schedule. Take and record vital signs, both manually and with equipment.
