Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests and analyses to support patient diagnosis and treatment. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment while ensuring adherence to quality control and regulatory guidelines.
Requires an Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field and at least two years of laboratory experience. Must hold ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Apply comprehensive knowledge of laboratory practices, quality control, and quality assurance principles to support accurate and reliable diagnostic results. Use independent judgment to analyze and interpret test results, ensuring high-quality patient care. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; perform routine maintenance and resolve instrument malfunctions. Monitor and document the functionality of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal operation. Evaluate and resolve problems related to specimen collection, processing, or testing performance. Validate and correlate test results; identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective actions. Perform advanced and complex laboratory procedures and assess deviations from expected results using scientific reasoning. Participate in quality improvement activities using statistical principles and continuous performance evaluation. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, answering inquiries regarding test methodologies and results. Support ongoing education, consultation, and teamwork within the laboratory and broader healthcare environment. QualificationsQualifications Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a laboratory. Must be American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or American Medical Technologists (AMT) certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Clinical Laboratory Technician. Proficiency in laboratory techniques including blood sampling, specimen collection processing, and clinical laboratory practices.
