Provide direct personal care and assistance with daily living activities to residents while promoting their independence and quality of life. Collaborate with nursing staff to implement treatment plans and maintain a safe, clean unit environment.
Must hold a current Colorado Nurse Aide certification and be CPR certified. Preferred candidates have 1-3 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting.
To provide assistance in carrying out the acts of daily living in a population group unable to do so independently, while promoting independence, self-worth, and quality of life ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides direct personal care to residents and maintains a safe, clean, environment, while allowing for personal individualities. Follows nursing care instructions closely and reports observations that include adverse changes in resident physical or mental functioning to Charge Nurse. Assisting in admission, transfer, and discharge of residents. Provides assistance and emotional support to residents and families by talking with residents and families, listening to residents and families, knowing and demonstrating activity supportive of resident rights. Completes required documentation accurately and in a timely fashion. Provides direct resident care in accordance with treatment plans, as directed by the Charge/Treatment Nurse. Demonstrates understanding of and utilize proper infection control policies/practices. Transporting of residents for diagnostic tests and clinic visits. Works with other nursing staff and collaborating departments to provide the optimum quality of care for each individual resident. Assists Charge Nurse in maintaining until standards by maintaining clean/safe unit environment, maintaining unit supply standards, keeping halls free of equipment and clutter. Attends meetings and educational sessions, as directed. Completes a minimum of 12 hours per year of assigned education. Maintains regular attendance and punctuality. Performs other assigned duties. Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not oversee other positions.
Current Colorado Nurse Aide certification in good standing. CPR Certified
Preferred Qualifications: 1- 3 years experience
Must be able to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively with teams and leadership while demonstrating a high level of integrity, sound judgment, and attention to detail. This role requires professionalism in all interactions with employees, patients, and the public, along with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all SECHD, state, and federal policies and regulations. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a professional and compassionate demeanor. Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new software systems are required. Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations is preferred. Dependability, initiative, and the ability to see tasks through to completion are critical, as is a commitment to safety, quality, and working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours.
