Position summary

The Psychiatric Provider at River Valley Counseling Center (RVCC) delivers psychiatric evaluations and treatment to clients, addressing diagnostic, pharmacological, and psychosocial needs. The role includes consulting with other medical and clinical practitioners, completing timely and accurate documentation, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated, client-centered care. Hours for this position start at 16 part-time hours but can range up to 40 full-time hours. This position also offers opportunities for future growth and advancement within the company.

Key responsibilities

  • To provide psychiatric evaluations of adult clients.
  • To provide psychiatric evaluations and consultation to their families of adult clients when family treatment will benefit the clients’ mental health status.
  • To be knowledgeable about the age-appropriate developmental needs of the client and the developmental cycles of the family.
  • To provide medication evaluations and maintenance treatment for clients.
  • To participate and provide psychiatric input into the team case review process.
  • To provide general consultation and guidance around issues of dangerous and potential hospitalization.
  • To provide consultation to physicians of other specialty areas (e.g. pediatricians, family practitioners, neurologists) around psychiatric issues when these physicians also are working with RVCC clients.

To answer questions.

To make adjustment based on technical factors.

To provide privacy.

Qualifications

Required

Medical Degree; Board Certified in Psychiatry.

Five years practice experience in working with adults with psychiatric presentation.

Current Medical Licensure and registration within the State of Massachusetts; current license from the Bureau of Narcotic and Dangerous Drugs.

Preferred

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Medical Degree, be Board Certified in Psychiatry, and possess at least five years of experience working with adults. A current Massachusetts medical license and registration with the Bureau of Narcotic and Dangerous Drugs are required.
