Position
OVERVIEW: The COTA is responsible for providing occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore them to their fullest physical ability. The COTA performs his/her duties in accordance with policies and procedures and the established plan of care.
A few position highlights include: Provide service within the scope of practice as defined by the state laws governing the provision of Occupational Therapy in home care, and in accordance with the plan of care set only as defined by the supervising OT. Follow the plan of care, instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to the state laws governing occupational therapy assistants. Observe, record, and report to the supervising OT, the nurse supervisor, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition. Coordinate care with the other members of the healthcare team as appropriate. Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.

MUST
HAVES: Current COTA license in the state where services are rendered. Current CPR certification, driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation. Must be able to reliably commute to multiple patient residences daily within the geographic area assigned.
