What Will Our Caregiver Do?
Companionship & Engagement
Provide meaningful companionship, conversation, and emotional support
Engage clients in hobbies, activities, board games, and other appropriate activities
Monitor Alzheimer’s and dementia clients for behavioral or condition changes and report promptly
Offer a calm, consistent, and reassuring presence that clients and families can count on
Household & Daily Living
Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and bed-making
Plan and prepare nutritious meals; assist with feeding as appropriate
Assist clients with errands, shopping, and transportation to appointments
Support household management including apparel selection
Personal Care
Assist with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, dressing, and basic skin and foot care
Provide toileting assistance, transferring (bed to chair, wheelchair, shower), and ambulation support
Administer medication reminders and assist with catheter/ostomy care (empty only)
Assist with diaper/brief changes and home exercise plans as directed
Documentation & Reporting
Document care activities accurately and consistently with agency requirements

Clock in and out for each shift using the agency’s electronic visit verification (EVV) system; record daily hours worked and services performed
Report any significant changes in client condition to your supervisor immediately
Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Senior Helpers Employee Handbook
We Would Like Our Caregiver to Have These
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior home care or caregiving experience preferred – not required; paid training provided
Ability to successfully complete Personal Care Services training and skills assessment
Must meet Texas state requirements for caregiver services
Valid Texas driver’s license with no serious violations and current auto insurance
Reliable personal vehicle required; ability to travel to client homes throughout Little Elm and surrounding areas
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
First Aid / CPR certification preferred; must be obtained within 60 days of hire
Demonstrates tact, patience, compassion, and good personal hygiene
Experience
Home care or direct caregiving experience: Preferred (not required)
Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or
Alzheimer’s/dementia clients: A plus
