Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing assessments for residents
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders
• Provide therapy sessions to residents to improve speech clarity, language skills, and swallowing safety
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and family members to coordinate care and ensure optimal outcomes
• Document resident progress and maintain accurate, timely records in compliance with facility policies
• Stay current with best practices and evidence-based approaches in speech therapy

Skills and Qualifications

• Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
• Proven experience working with elderly populations in nursing home or long-term care settings preferred
• Strong assessment and treatment planning skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
• Flexibility to work PRN hours as needed
