Position overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform high-quality Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical skills, compassion for patients, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Perform Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures, including in vivo and in vitro studies.

Operate radiation detection and imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and SPECT/PET/CT systems.

Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals; maintain accurate documentation for receipt, usage, and disposal.

Evaluate image quality and process computerized imaging data for interpretation.

Ensure compliance with radiation safety and all regulatory standards.

Conduct daily and weekly quality control and calibration procedures on imaging equipment.

Maintain detailed records of patient procedures and radiopharmaceutical activities.

Assist in training and guiding new technologists or students as needed.

Provide exceptional patient care, explaining procedures clearly and compassionately.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Center Manager.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine (preferred).
  • Completion of 16 hours of PET/CT training as required by the State of Florida.
  • Licensed by the State of Florida and certified by ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT).
  • BLS certification required.
  • Knowledge & skills
  • Proficiency in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT technical principles and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety, anatomy, physiology, and image quality standards.
  • IV placement and management skills.
  • Experience using PACS and imaging software systems.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities.
  • Calm, professional demeanor in emergency or high-pressure situations.
  • Physical requirements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and assist with patient positioning.
  • Requires full range of motion and 20/20 correctable vision.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
