A typical shift

As a PRN MLT Medical Lab Technician, you’ll arrive for a rotating shift and review pending work, priorities, and any notes from the previous team. The pace varies—some hours are routine, others are driven by urgent clinical needs—so you’ll stay organized while moving between benches and the LIS. You’ll coordinate with nursing and other departments as questions arise, keep documentation clear for continuity across days/evenings/nights, and close out the shift by confirming handoff details for the next rotation. Weekend and holiday coverage is part of the schedule, with hours flexing between 8 and 24 per week depending on staffing needs.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in laboratory science and certification from AMT or ASCP. One to three years of clinical hospital experience is desired, along with qualification as a General Supervisor per CLIA'88.
