The Surgical Technologist is responsible for scrubbing in to assist physicians during surgical cases and managing sterile processing tasks. This includes the decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and storage of surgical instrumentation and equipment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and formal education in surgical technology with a current certification from an accredited program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and adherence to annual employee health requirements are also mandatory.
The Surgical Technologist is responsible for scrubbing in and assisting the physician for all cases. After completion of each case, the surgical technologist will be on standby for sterile technician needs which includes the following aspects of sterile processing to include decontamination, preparation packaging sterilization and sterile storage while adhering to department policies and procedures.
