Job description
Be a part of a world-class academic health-care system, University of Chicago Medicine, as a Radiology Sonographer II in the Radiology Department.
Here you will perform Ultrasound and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
The technologist will provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient’s conditions essential for successful completion of the procedures.
The services are provided in accordance with industry standards, department protocols and hospital policies and procedures.
This position is a 100% onsite opportunity in Hyde Park.
You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
Eligible for up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus
Essential Job Functions
Competent in all general abdominal and pediatric exams with duplex within 45 minutes
Competent in general and advanced department protocols
Participates and assists APN in biopsy procedures independently
Competent in transplant organ exams; Liver, Renal and Pancreas
Participates in training of Level I sonographers, students and residents
Actively participates in process improvement activities and educational presentations
Demonstrates responsibility in order accuracy and protocol
Performs other duties assigned by Lead Technologist and Department Manager
Participate in imaging evaluation and improvement with Imaging Technical Coordinator
Required Qualifications
Satisfactory completion of formal Ultrasound training program through a CAAHEP approved school
ARDMS registered in Abdominal (AB) and Vascular (RVT) Imaging with active competency demonstrated in area of credentials
ARDMS registered in Pediatrics (P) within 1 year of placement as a Sonographer II
Minimum 1 year experience to include advanced abdominal vascular experience
Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required
Handle high pressure, fast paced work environment
Excellent team work
Ability to work independently on call
