Provide evidence-based parenting interventions and therapeutic support to families involved with the child welfare system. Manage a caseload of families to increase stability and reduce the risk of out-of-home placement through coaching and dyadic interventions.
Requires a Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field and WA State associate-level licensure (LMHCA, LMFTA, or SWAIC). Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to pass background checks.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Parenting Therapist to join our Parenting Academy team. This position works closely with families involved with DCYF, including parents with open dependency cases, to provide intensive parenting support, therapeutic services, and evidence-based interventions designed to increase family stability and reduce the risk of out-of-home placement.

What You’ll Do As a Parenting Therapist I, you will provide family-centered, strengths-based services that help caregivers build safer, healthier, and more connected relationships with their children.
You will work directly with families involved in the child welfare system, often navigating complex challenges including trauma, mental health concerns, behavioral difficulties, substance use recovery, domestic violence, and reunification planning.
$30.00/hour Additional $1.00/hour bilingual pay for Spanish or Mixteco fluency Compensation based on experience and qualifications

Preferred Skills & Experience Experience working with children and families impacted by trauma Knowledge of child development and attachment Familiarity with DCYF systems and dependency work Experience providing parenting support or family therapy is a plus Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive care Ability to engage families with empathy, respect, and nonjudgment Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in community-based settings
Master’s degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or related field WA State associate-level licensure (LMHCA, LMFTA, or SWAIC), or ability to obtain within 6 months Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to pass required background checks Fluent English required Spanish or Mixteco bilingual skills strongly preferred
