Independently perform and record echocardiology diagnostic tests for specific patient populations to identify normal and abnormal anatomy. Ensure the quality of echocardiogram exams and provide appropriate patient care based on age and needs.
Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree or completion of an accredited sonographer program, along with one year of experience in transthoracic echocardiology. Must hold BLS certification and be registered through ARDMS or CCI.
The Cardiac Sonographer II follows established policies, procedures, and performs and records Echocardiology diagnostic tests independently as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonography in one patient population (Adult, Pediatric, Fetal). Obtains information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnosis disease. Ensures echocardiogram exams are of acceptable quality and records results. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
