The role involves evaluating and solving problems related to specimen collection and processing to maintain integrity throughout testing. The scientist also facilitates workflow and ensures outstanding tests are tracked and completed in a timely manner.
A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related science and completion of an approved internship are required. Candidates must obtain a professional certification such as MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) within six months of hire.
