Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care for patients in the Labor and Delivery Unit and Post Partum Unit (Women’s Services).
• Documents care given and provides leadership and guidance for subordinates.

Qualifications

• Must have Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
• BLS/CPR Required.
• Preferred AWHONN FHMPP basic course.
• ACLS and NRP required within six months of hire.
• AWHONN FHMPP basic course completed by the end of nursing orientation and AWHONN FHMPP intermediate completed by 3 to 6 months of L&D start.
• AWHONN FHMPP advanced completed 18-24 months after L&D start.
• For all experienced Labor and Delivery RNs, maintain AWHONN FHMPP Intermediate or Advanced every 2 years.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.

Education

Graduate of a state approved school of professional nursing practice. Maintains current licensure in the State of Texas.
