The Monitor Technician is responsible for the continuous observation, identification, and documentation of cardiac rhythms and seizure activity. They must promptly report any rhythm changes or behavioral anomalies to the assigned nursing staff and physicians.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma and have experience in Telemetry and EKG. Successful completion of an EKG certification test and ongoing recertifications are required.
The Monitor Technician's functions include observation, identification, documentation and communication of various cardiac rhythms. The Monitor Technician reports these changes to the patient's assigned nurse and responds to physician inquiries.
