CT Technologist Apprentice

• About Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital In response to the health care needs of a growing community, in 1977, Corewell opened a new 189-bed hospital on rural farmland in Troy.
• Today, Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital has grown to 530 licensed beds and offers a comprehensive array of health care services, continuing to develop to meet the needs of the growing communities it serves.
• Scope of work Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
• Technologists must demonstrate good clinical skills and provide the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection.
• Overview - This is a paid apprenticeship model which is a 16-week program that combines related online education through the ASRT, and on the job learning at Corewell Health. - Completion of this program satisfies the ARRT 16-credit Structured Education Requirements for CT. - After successful completion of all 12 modules of the program, participants will receive 16 CE credits and a document from the ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists) recognizing their achievement. - Program includes requirement for a 1-year commitment as a CT Tech (at a .5 FTE status or higher) with Corewell Health that will begin upon entering a CT Technologist position.

Qualifications

Required Associate's Degree Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program.
