The Medical Assistant coordinates patient care by preparing patients for visits, documenting vitals, and assisting providers with clinical procedures like casting and suture removal. They are also responsible for maintaining exam room standards, managing medical supplies, and facilitating communication between patients and providers.
A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and BLS certification. Preferred candidates have one to two years of healthcare experience, proficiency with EMR systems, and strong interpersonal skills.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting providers with patient care and acts as the coordinator of care for patients before, during, and after office visits. This role includes preparing patients for visits, documenting vitals, maintaining exam room standards, performing basic clinical procedures, assisting with wound care and casting, and ensuring effective communication between patients and providers across multiple locations. This is a full-time position with Monday through Friday hours.
• BLS certification preferred.
