Performs accurate clinical testing and reports results while maintaining laboratory equipment and quality control standards. Responsible for specimen preparation, documenting critical results, and assisting with staff training and compliance.
Requires a degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related science with certification from ASCP or AMT. Candidates must possess knowledge of standardization, quality control theory, and safety regulations.
Skills: Knowledge and ability to perform testing with accuracy appropriate to the sections in which they work. Knowledge of standardization and quality control theory and ability to troubleshoot without preset criteria. Understanding of safety regulations, regulatory requirements, and statistical methods. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, hospital personnel and physicians.
