The Clinical Social Worker provides expert assessment, counseling, and psychotherapy to patients and families within inpatient and ambulatory settings. They collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver crisis intervention and mental health consultations.
Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Social Work and a valid LCSW or LICSW license. Specific post-masters clinical experience and supervision hours are required depending on the state of licensure.

1. EDUCATION Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work. EXPERIENCE For Connecticut, consistent with LCSW licensure requirements, 3,000 hours of post-masters social work experience and 100 hours of post-masters clinical supervision. For Rhode Island, consistent with LICSW licensure requirements, 24 months of experience licensed as a licensed clinical social worker under appropriate supervision. LICENSURE Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the State of Connecticut, or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) from the State of Rhode Island, or those holding licenses from other states, will need an 'endorsement' and meet the State of Connecticut or State of Rhode Island license requirements SPECIAL SKILLS The Social Worker will possess the following special skills: empathy, active listening, critical thinking, strong organizational and computer skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with and advocate for patients and families.
