This role is a cornerstone of our clinical operations—supporting surgical and wellness services, shelter animal health, and providing compassionate patient care from intake to discharge. As a key team member, you will help ensure every animal we treat receives safe, appropriate, and quality care.
What You’ll Do: Surgery & Wellness Care
Triage patients and communicate concerns to the veterinarian Provide hands-on medical care throughout surgical & wellness procedures Assist veterinarians during surgery and wellness exams Maintain drug logs, databases, and accurate patient records Administer vaccines, tests, medications, and treatments Maintain clean, sterile workspaces and appropriate medical inventory Shelter Medicine & Animal Wellness
Monitor overall health of shelter & foster animals Administer appropriate treatments and medical care Maintain accurate medical records Maintain a safe, healthy, properly supplied shelter environment Ensure adoption-ready animals are fully vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped Stay informed on current animal welfare practices What You Bring
Education & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Associates degree (preferred but not required) Physical Requirements
Ability to stand or sit for 8+ hours Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs Good fine motor skills, vision, hearing, balance, and mobility Ability to kneel, bend, climb, and navigate tight spaces Ability to work in varying environmental temperatures Emotional & Mental Strength
Ability to stay calm under stress Ability to respond quickly to medical situations (with training) Ability to process information and make informed decisions Resilience when coping with loss, medical complications, or euthanasia Capacity to lead, delegate, and support others Ability to ask for help and work as part of a team
