Deliver comprehensive care to oncology patients using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, and intervention. Maintain continuity of care and implement age-specific safety and infection control measures.
Requires an Associate degree in Nursing, current RN licensure, and at least one year of RN experience. Must obtain a Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate within six months of hire and maintain BLS certification.
Here’s What You Need · Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required · BSN preferred · One-year experience as a RN required. · Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire · Current BLS (required) –prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly. · CPI training within 90 days of hire (required) · 2+ years of inpatient oncology RN experience and charge/preceptor skills (preferred) · Successful completion of the ONS - Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate within 6 months of hire required · OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse within 2 years of hire preferred What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process · Assesses the patient · Plans the care of the patient · Intervenes as appropriate · Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions · Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care. · Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information · Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
