The Procedure Support Tech performs patient and non-patient functions to ensure the efficiency of the perioperative area. Responsibilities include maintaining operating room equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring a sanitary environment.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED. A BCLS - Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.
The Procedure Support Tech I performs patient and non-patient functions under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse. This job is responsible for performing a range of self-directed support activities that contribute to the overall efficiency of the perioperative area(s). Work involves inventorying, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, maintaining operating room equipment, positioning patients, and patient preparation for procedure. If needed assists with case cart preparation. Assists in maintaining a clean, sanitary, orderly procedural environment, and transports patients as required. To function as an integral member of the operating room team and contribute to maintaining a safe, professional, respectful and effective patient care environment.
