Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders across all age groups. Performs respiratory therapy and cardiac diagnostic procedures, including the analysis of sputum, blood, and breath specimens.
Requires an Associate Degree and licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Kansas, along with NBRC registration. Mandatory certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS.
Assists in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Performs all respiratory therapy procedures and cardiac diagnostic procedures throughout the hospital.
