Candidates must possess an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) or an equivalent body. A minimum of one year of clinical experience is required, with additional requirements suggesting at least three years of clinical experience for this career ladder position.
