$22 - $25 / HOUR
The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and labeling blood samples from a diverse patient population to assist providers with diagnosis. They also maintain laboratory supplies and ensure accurate documentation of all lab work in patient records.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma, Phlebotomy and CPR certifications, and at least one year of experience. Bilingual skills and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems are required or highly desired.
Greets all patients in a professional and friendly manner. Identifying patients via ID, medical record or other means Drawing blood using needles and other equipment Labeling samples correctly and send them for testing Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient Expect to work with a large number of patients varying in age and health status Completes necessary document accurately for all lab work. Completes & enters data into patient’s records and submits all forms in a timely manner. Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment Maintains medical unit supplies in laboratory and exam rooms. Attends and participates in meetings as required. Other duties as assigned. Education and Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Certification in CPR Phlebotomy Certification Minimum one year of Phlebotomy experience Experience with effective puncture techniques Ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, social, and economic backgrounds. Ability to work independently and a self-starter with minimal supervision Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Computer proficiency Experience utilizing an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is highly desirable Bilingual required
