The Cytotechnologist is responsible for specimen processing, equipment maintenance, and assisting in fine needle aspiration biopsies. They must also prepare and stain slides for rapid assessment by pathologists and utilize relevant computer software.
Candidates must have an Associate and Bachelor's degree in Cytology, completion of an approved Cytotechnology program, and a valid CT or SCT certification. One to three years of cytology experience, preferably in a hospital specialty, is highly preferred.
