The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing patient mobility and developing individualized rehabilitation programs. They provide manual therapy, patient education, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure recovery.
Candidates must hold a degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program and a valid Maine state license. Basic Life Support certification is required, while experience in acute care or rehabilitation is preferred.
• Rehabilitation or Acute Care Experience.
🧍♂️ 1. Patient Assessment & Evaluation
Review patient medical history and physician referrals Assess mobility, strength, balance, posture, and range of motion Diagnose functional limitations and physical conditions Develop individualized treatment plans
🏃♀️ 2. Treatment Planning & Implementation
Design personalized rehabilitation programs Use therapeutic exercises, stretching, and manual therapy Apply techniques like massage, joint mobilization, and electrotherapy Help patients regain strength, flexibility, and coordination
🧠 3. Patient Education
Teach patients proper body mechanics and posture Provide guidance on injury prevention and recovery Educate patients and families about home exercise programs
📊 4. Monitoring Progress
Track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed Document patient outcomes and improvements Communicate updates to physicians and healthcare team
🏥 5. Collaboration with Healthcare Team
Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other therapists Participate in multidisciplinary care planning Ensure continuity of care

Assist patients recovering from surgeries, strokes, or injuries Help improve mobility in conditions like arthritis or neurological disorders Support patients in regaining independence in daily activities
