Opportunity Overview
We have an immediate opening for an Andrologist to join our team at IVF Florida in Margate, Florida.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with weekends required when patients are in cycle and the ability to float to additional locations as needed

In this role, the Andrologist will
Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, and report and maintain records of patient test results. Attention to detail is essential with these duties; labeling must be clear and legible
Perform chemiluminescent immunoassays on serum samples using automated equipment. This includes calibrating, cleaning, and maintaining the equipment as required by the manufacturer
Perform semen analyses including sperm count, sperm motility, sperm morphology and viability. Perform routine sperm preps for inseminations and Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), maintain aseptic techniques throughout

Maintain appropriate laboratory supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipate needed supplies
Regularly replace and maintain all medical supplies
Maintain records that demonstrate PT samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens
Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies; document all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed
Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance
Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results; must correct the problems and/or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, clinical consultant or laboratory director
Study and review laboratory operating manuals and become familiar with quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures, and operating guidelines for performing laboratory services
Study and review OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operation; always wear appropriate lab personal protective equipment (PPE); maintain a protective, safe laboratory environment
Participate in laboratory operations as directed
Attend laboratory meetings as requested
Participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs
Attend skill enhancement programs as directed by supervisor
Work weekends as needed when patients are in stimulation cycles
Other duties as assigned/required

Qualifications
and Skills Include:
Bachelors degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science required
Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience; reproductive/fertility experience preferred
Proficient in all andrology and endocrinology procedures, with the ability to work independently
Knowledge of processing, reporting, compliance, QC and calibrations for andrology and endocrinology
Strong laboratory skills, detail orientation, and compliance with documentation skills
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations; position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficiency required
Self-starter that adapts well to change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
