The ED Tech provides clinical patient care support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. They are responsible for delivering age-specific care to patients within the emergency department.
Candidates must have a Georgia Basic EMT certification, be a nursing student with acute care clinical experience, or have 2 years of patient care tech experience. A current BLS CPR card is required upon hire.
Overview The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Possess the knowledge and ability to provide care to the age specific population to which assigned.

Education One of the following: Required Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required Licenses and Certifications BCLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS CPR Card Upon Hire Required Business
