Perform technical diagnostic exams using X-ray and CT protocols while ensuring patient safety and minimal radiation exposure. Manage departmental records, order supplies, and provide clinical training to radiologic technology students.
Must be competent in starting IVs and understanding creatinine testing across various patient age groups. Requires the physical ability to move equipment and position patients weighing up to 25 lbs.
Performs technical procedures to obtain diagnostic exams of various portions of the body using recognized radiographical techniques and CT protocols to assist physicians in diagnosis of diseases and injuries with a minimum of ionizing radiation being applied. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
Works in a radiation exposure area. Exposure to infectious materials, cuts, and abrasions from equipment. A flexible work schedule is required. Constant physical activity. Strenuous activity involved with moving equipment and patients. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.
Patients, visitors, medical staff, and all other departments within the facility. Assists in troubleshooting problems of scanner.
Ability to operate radiation exposure equipment and computers.
